Every woman wants a room in her home where she can just escape and fully relax, am I right?! The bedroom is the only room in the house I chose to paint. For our master bedroom I chose to go with a light grey for the walls, with white trim. I also used white paint to really accentuate our tray ceiling.
Our whole house was sprayed in terms of interior paint, therefore everything is a medium tan, including our ceilings. We have nice high ceilings so this color works well and creates a nice, cozy feeling. Once our room was painted the master bath didn’t flow. I really did not want to paint another room, especially since there are so many corners and surfaces to paint around in bathrooms. To add a fun touch and bring the two rooms together I chose to stencil a design on the wall.
Our long dresser, mainly a media center with some candles
I love thrift shopping and the fact that all it takes is a can of spray paint to take an item from drab to fab :) the black wooden candelabra was spray painted and slightly aged to fit the room decor. The vase in front of it I picked up at an Idaho Youth Ranch for $1.
I purchased two black canvases at Michael's and used acrylic paint and all four puppies to create a unique art piece. I used a different color on each dog’s paws and had them walk all over the canvas. To make them fit the space a bit better, I used the same stencil from the bathroom.
My tall dresser with multiple silver and purple tones.
Vases were once brown and tan, with almost an Aztec vibe. Spray painted them all silver. Mirrored tray and silver planter bowl are from thrift stores. I used Spanish moss and floral Styrofoam from Dollar Tree and picked up an orchid from the clearance section of Michael's. Other pieces are from TJ Maxx.
Our bedside tables and lamps are hand-me-downs from my mother in law. These were my first furniture refinishing project and they need re-done a bit, but I took them from a horribly ugly wood finish to all black with silver hardware. Lamps I took from brass and brown to silver.
