For the kitchen I wanted to go with a copper & green color scheme. I have the toughest time with the area above my cabinets, getting things to sit at the right height is nearly impossible. Again almost all of the items here are from thrift stores, DIY, or yard sales.
Copper vase with Moss ball toppers were originally black and a frosted glass, however both shapes matched so I simply spray painted them with a can of Rustoleum Metallic Copper.
I like the fact that I had a hand in making a lot of the items in my home. (or at least making them look decent)
Blueplate Special Chalkboard- D.I., Fork & Spoon- Yard Sale, Copper Bucket w/flowers- yard sale, Fleur De Lis Plate- Idaho Youth Ranch, Green Vase- Yard Sale. (All my floral items or vase fillers tend to come from Dollar Tree or Michael's Clearance bins)
Mail Sorter originally from Real Deals Decor for $69.99 but I picked it up at the D.I. for $12! Fork and spoon set originally looked like the below pictured, updated them with a can of Rustoleum- Eden & antiqued the edges with a brown acrylic paint.
I used the same spray paint to update a $1 frame from the D.I. I added some chicken wire that I got for free my mom. These tiny close pins from Michael's matched perfectly. Lastly I added a burlap bow, the ribbon used was purchased at Walmart.
